An excellent introduction to phonics.

If you (the parent) are familiar with Phonics, you will immediately appreciate the way this app teaches phonics.

Letter section: introduces the phonetic sound of each letter and builds the foundation.

Words section: teaches the child how to sound out a word to spell it. It presents 125+ words from common word families and says out the phonetic sound of each letter when building the word.

Correct answer would make the word rock to fun music.

SCAM_SCAM=SCAM
This app is a SCAM. When your kid accidentally presses the very large "get full version" button on the free app, they automatically download several other apps to your phone without needing your itunes password. If youre not vigilant your account will be charged a few days later. The phonics rocks app itself is pretty useless. The verbal prompts are really hard to understand so its not clear what letter of the alphabet theyre sounding out. It just causes confusion for the kid.

Sound needs to be fixed!
I used to work good with it. But now, the sound is very poor. My children can not listen the words. :(
